Every year since 1986, usually in March, the Rotary Clubs of Howick and Half Moon Bay have jointly organised a Charity Yacht Regatta on the sparkling Waitemata Harbour with up to 50 yachts and over 360 people enjoying a fantastic experience.
Friday 26 March 2010 will be no exception, starting with onshore brunch, a packed lunch on the yachts, followed by a dinner and prize giving back onshore.
Based at Half Moon Bay Marina, Auckland, the regatta has raised over $1.4 million to date, for distribution to a wide range of charitable causes and community groups.
For March 2010 we have chosen the Stella Trust Inc., Victim Support, and adolescent mental health initiatives as our main beneficiaries, and we are looking forward to having you join us for some fun on the water while making a positive contribution to our community.
